Day 4
Borjomi – Kutaisi – Gelati – Prometheus cave – Sataplia – Tbilisi
After breakfast we will drive towards Kutaisi. First we will visit Gelati monastery, which is under the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites. It was founded in the 12th century by King David the IV, named ‘the Builder’. Lunch in Kutaisi. Then we will visit Prometheus cave, near Kutaisi. The cave was discovered in 1984. It has a specific geological significance.
The underground halls, rooms and corridors are full of stalagmites, stalactites, petrified waterfalls. We also visit Sataplia cave, a newly created, parkmuseum, famous for its marvelous caves and dinosaur foot prints. Concluding the tour we will drive you towards Tbilisi. Dinner in the restaurant. Overnight in hotel in Tbilisi.
