Day 4

Bakuriani – Mtskheta – Gudauri

After breakfast we will drive you towards Mtskheta – the ancient capital of Georgia. Scientists date the foundation of the town back to the 2nd millennium BC. Mtskheta was the capital of Georgian Kingdom of Iberia from 500 BC to 500 AD. It was here that the Georgians embraced Christianity in the beginning of the 4th century. Today, the town and its architectural monuments are included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. We will visit Svetitskhoveli cathedral, according the legend here is buried the piece of Christ’s chiton. Then we will visit Jvari Monastery which stands on a rocky mountain at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. From here, you will enjoy a breathtaking view over the town of Mtskheta. Lunch en route (at your leisure). Then we will drive you towards Gudauri ski resort which is located in Kazbegi district, 120 km from Tbilisi; near the Cross pass at the hight of 2196 meters. Here you will enjoy with inter landscapes skiing or snowboarding. Dinner (at your leisure).
