Day 7

Kvareli – Gremi – Napareuli – Alaverdi – Gvirabi – Kvareli

After breakfast we will drive you towards Gremi. Gremi and the Church of the Archangels dates back to the 16th-century. The complex is located on a hill and composed of the church itself, a three-story castle, a bell tower and a wine cellar. You can also see the remains of a secret tunnel leading to the Ints’obi River. Then we will visit local wine cellar, where you will enjoy lunch and have wine tasting. After this we will visit majestic Alaverdi (11th century Cathedral), which bears witness of the countless battles against the Muslim empires to the South, which this deeply Christian region has seen. Then we will visit “Gvirabi”, a special cave like wine aging facility carved kilometers deep into the rock. Here you will taste delicious wines of the owner company Khareba. Concluding the tour we will drive you back to hotel in Kvareli. Dinner (at your leisure).
